Bison Partners operates under two entities, Bison Advisors LLC and Bison Capital LLC:
- Bison Advisors LLC provides advisory and consulting services to middle market companies contemplating raising capital to grow their business, aquire other companies, restructure their balance sheets as part of a turnaround process or refinance their current lenders and investors. The capital raising process may require sometimes significant adjustments to, and measurable improvements of, their business plan, management team, operations and financial processes, and systems. Bison Advisors also provides specialty finance solutions to its corporate clients as well as investor sponsored portfolio companies.
- Bison Capital LLC can offer securities through Centre Capital Advisors, member NASD, through which it offers investment banking, M&A and debt and equity capital raising services for lower middle market companies which in certain cases can include the portfolio companies of private investment funds. Through its designation as a dedicated origination agent for several “special situation” funds, Bison Capital can provide access to flexible debt and equity capital for working capital, aquisitions, restructurings or companies going through turnarounds where financing may not be available from “mainstream” investors, commercial lenders and finance companies. The focus is on privately-held companies looking to raise from $1 million up to $40+ million of debt and/or equity financing.
Bison Partners defines its primary client markets as:
- Corporations with annual revenues from $5 million up to $100+ million. Bison primarily focuses on the lower middle market segment of the economy and typically works with privately-held companies.
- Private Investment Sponsors with assets and/or commitments under management from $20 million to $500+ million. Bison also works with investment funds with up to $1 billion or more under management and "fundless" sponsor groups.
